Job summary

Gordon Highlander seeks an experienced Regional Director of Operations to lead multiple project teams across the Southeast, delivering ground-up and industrial facilities with a focus on safety, quality, schedule, and financial performance.

You will mentor Project Managers and Superintendents, drive continuous improvement, and partner with regional leadership to grow the Southeast portfolio.

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience within commercial general contracting.
• Experience leading multiple project teams rather than a single project.
• Experience overseeing large-scale ground-up commercial/industrial construction.
• Experience leading and developing Project Managers and Superintendents.
• Strong understanding of project financials, forecasting, scheduling and risk.
• Ability to oversee multiple concurrent projects with accountability.
• Knowledge of construction methods, sequencing and delivery.
• Ability to build trusted client relationships at senior level.
• Strong commercial judgment to identify challenges and drive solutions.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate across Operations, Preconstruction, BD and exec leadership.
• Comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment with ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership across multiple commercial construction projects in the Southeast.
• Lead, mentor, and develop groups of Project Managers, Superintendents, and teams.
• Set clear expectations and accountability across project leadership.
• Oversee safety, quality, schedule, financial performance and client satisfaction.
• Maintain visibility across the regional project portfolio and identify risks.
• Partner with regional leadership to drive strong operational and financial results.
• Ensure staffing and resources are in place for successful delivery.
• Build relationships with clients, trade partners, architects, and engineers.
• Participate in project pursuits, client interviews, and strategic planning.
• Collaborate with Preconstruction and Business Development for transitions.
• Support recruitment, development, and succession planning in operations.
• Drive consistency, accountability, and continuous improvement across delivery.
• Champion client-centric culture throughout the Southeast operations.

Education

Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
