Job Summary

As a Sous Chef II, you assist in the success of the food program and oversee culinary functions. Responsibilities include planning, ordering, inventory, and food prep, while adhering to client culture, health regulations, and company standards for quality, freshness, and presentation. You will also motivate, train, develop, and direct back-of-house staff to meet operational goals and ensure customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in preparing and cooking various food items.
  • Help plan and create menus.
  • Implement new culinary programs with marketing and culinary teams.
  • Manage cost controls and expenditure.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • 3 years of related culinary experience, including 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, healthcare, or related food services.
  • Knowledge of food trends, quality, sanitation, safety, food cost controls, and presentation.
  • Ability to set up and manage production sheets.
  • Leadership, training, management, and coaching skills.
  • ServSafe or Department of Health Certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts preferred.
