Job summary

The Cypress of Charlotte is seeking a talented Sous Chef to join our upscale culinary team. This role focuses on exceptional cuisine, elevated service, and creating memorable dining experiences in a resort-style environment.

Qualifications

• Two to three years experience in a hotel, restaurant, or club with fine dining preferred.
• Two to three years' experience in a supervisory role.
• Must be able to effectively communicate, read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English.]
• Strong leadership and teamwork abilities are valued in a fast-paced, upscale dining setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in leading daily kitchen operations and supervising culinary team members.
• Oversee kitchen operations in the absence of the Executive Chef.
• Ensure all menu items meet established standards for quality, presentation, and portion control.
• Support menu development, food costing, purchasing, inventory management, and production planning.
• Coordinate catered events, special functions, and daily service execution.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment that meets or exceeds health department standards.
• Monitor operational performance, communicate issues and improvement opportunities to leadership, and support continuous process enhancement.
• Foster a positive team culture through effective leadership, collaboration, and staff development.
• Promote exceptional resident and guest satisfaction through outstanding hospitality and culinary excellence.
• Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.

Schedule: Flexible to work various shifts (5:45am-2:15pm, 7:45am- 4:00pm, 12:30pm-9:00pm)

Pay: $22 - $26 per hour, depending on experience, including a $5,000 SIGN-ON BONUS
