The Cypress of Charlotte, a premier Life Plan Community in SouthPark, is recruiting a hospitality-focused Cook for hands-on production in the Culinary Services Department. This full-time role requires flexibility across shifts and weekends, ensuring high-quality meals for residents.

Qualifications include ServSafe preferred, 3+ years cooking experience in hospitality settings, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a cook in a hotel, restaurant, club or similar institution.
• SERVSafe certification preferred.
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic and understand measurements and conversions.
• Must communicate effectively in English, read and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Work all kitchen stations and run assigned station each shift.
• Follow specs, stock food as needed, and maintain food quality and plate presentation.
• Prepare soups, stocks, sauces, and various cooking methods per recipes.
• Plan production to align with meal service hours and ensure proper temperatures and appearance.

Job description

Position: Cook - SIGN ON BONUS, Full-Time

Schedule: Varies, must be flexible to workthe following shifts:

• Monday - Saturday: 7:00 am - 3:00 pm & 12:30 pm - 9:00 pm
• Sundays: 7:00 am - 4:00 pm
• Must be able to work weekends

Pay: $20.00 - $22.51 per hour + $1,500 SIGN ON BONUS!

Position Summary:

The Cypress of Charlotte is recruiting for a hospitality focused Cook to join our team! This position is responsible for full-scope, hands on production cooking in the Culinary Services Department.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Ability to work all stations in the kitchen.
• Efficiently runs assigned station during the shift, follow all specs, and stock food as needed.
• Maintains the quality of food and plate presentation.
• Prepares all soups, stocks, sauces; boils, braises and roasts items as per standardized recipes.
• Prepares and serves all sautéed, fried, grilled, steamed and baked items as per standardized recipes.
• Prepares or directs the preparation of all food served, following standard recipes and special diet orders. Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours, so that excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food is preserved.
• Determines amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus and seeing that supplies are obtained from storage areas in adequate time for meal production.

Qualifications:

• SERVSafe Certification preferred.
• Experience in hospital or senior living preferred.
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic and understand measurements and conversions.
• A minimum of three years’ experience as a cook in a hotel, restaurant, club or similar institution.
• Ability to plan and organize work, to interpret instructions, recipes, specifications and standards.
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance. Some knowledge of nutrition and diet.
• Must be able to effectively communicate, read, write, and follow oral and writteninstructions in English.
