Job summary

Willow Tree Recruiting has an exciting Sous Chef opening at a renowned upscale Italian/French restaurant in New York. The role supports the Chef de Cuisine in all BOH operations, with a salary of $75,000 - $90,000 plus bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.

You will lead kitchen production, train staff, supervise food and labor costs, ensure sanitation, and build strong vendor relationships. The ideal candidate has 2+ years as a Sous Chef in fine dining, strong leadership, and adaptability

Qualifications

• 2+ years as Sous Chef in upscale or fine dining.
• Experience with Italian or French cuisine preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to manage food and labor costs daily.
• Comfort with fast-changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing kitchen operations, production and execution.
• Train and mentor culinary and FOH staff; manage costs.
• Conduct daily food inspections and uphold sanitation.
• Coordinate training with main kitchen and prep staff.
• Maintain equipment and cleaning protocols.
• Build vendor relationships and manage inventory.
