Job summary

Cottage Health in Santa Barbara, CA seeks a Sous Chef to lead the kitchen when the Executive Chef is away, planning, directing, and evaluating the purchase, preparation, and production of food for patients and hospital facilities.

You will help develop and test recipes for upscale and general applications and ensure diets meet modified requirements in collaboration with the Culinary Dietitian.

Qualifications

• Minimum: California Food Handlers Card.
• Preferred: ServSafe Certificate.
• Preferred: Culinary Degree or AA in field.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and evaluate food preparation and production for patients, Cafeteria, Marketplace, Deli and special catered functions.
• Assist in development, testing and standardizing recipes; coordinate with Culinary Dietitian for modified diets.
