Location: Greensboro College Dining
  • We are hiring immediately for full-time and part-time SOUS CHEF positions.
  • Address: Greensboro College Dining - 815 West Market Street, Greensboro, NC 27401. Note: online applications accepted only.
  • Schedule: Full-time and part-time; Tuesday through Saturday, hours may vary. More details upon interview.
  • Requirement: Prior food handling leadership experience required.
  • Pay Range: $21.00 to $23.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Summary: Assists the Executive Chef in food preparation and cooking. Coordinates activities of cooks and food-service staff. Acts as supervisor in the absence of the Executive Chef.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Cook and prepare food following recipes and standards, meeting deadlines.
  • Supervise hourly food service staff, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, and discipline.
  • Store food safely, adhering to all sanitation procedures.
  • Ensure proper food handling, presentation, and temperature maintenance.
  • Maintain sanitation of equipment and work areas.
  • Interact with customers to resolve complaints professionally.
  • Understand and explain menu items accurately.
  • Manage peak production and service hours.
  • Monitor inventory, deliveries, and waste, informing supervisors of low supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
