Job Title: SOUS CHEF

We are hiring immediately for a full-time SOUS CHEF position.

Location

SOM Cafe Arbor - 453 Quarry Road, Stanford, CA 94304. Online applications accepted only.

Schedule

Full-time schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. More details upon interview.

Requirements

Preferred: 2 years of previous culinary experience.

Pay Range

$30.00 to $34.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Summary: Assists the Executive Chef in preparing and cooking foods, coordinates activities of kitchen staff, and takes responsibility in the absence of the Executive Chef.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Cook and prepare food following recipes and standards, meeting production deadlines.
  • Supervise food service staff, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, and disciplinary actions.
  • Store food safely, following all food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Ensure proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures.
  • Maintain sanitation of equipment and workstations.
  • Interact with customers to resolve complaints professionally.
  • Understand and explain menu items to staff and customers.
  • Manage inventory and monitor supplies and deliveries.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
