Epiphany Farms Hospitality Group (EFHG) is seeking a dedicated and visionary Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team in Central Illinois. This is a rare opportunity to work hands-on with a vertically integrated farm-to-table operation that grows its own ingredients, controls its own supply chain, and delivers thoughtfully sourced, creative cuisine.

At EFHG, we believe in promoting from within and developing future leaders. If you're a highly skilled and experienced line cook who’s ready to take the next step, this position could be within reach following a trial period and structured training. We value passion, coachability, drive and experience in the commercial kitchen just as much as résumé titles.

We are also open to candidates from outside the region who are looking to build something meaningful in a new setting. Relocation assistance may be available.

What We’re Looking For

  • A chef with integrity, curiosity, and vision—someone who wants more than just a kitchen title

  • Someone with the culinary skill set of a fine dining environment, but the mindset and flexibility to grow within a farm-to-table culture
  • Or a senior-level line cook with the skills and hunger to grow into leadership, willing to invest in training and prove capability over time

Core Responsibilities

  • Uphold and execute EFHG’s culinary vision with precision and pride
  • Lead and support BOH staff with consistency, discipline, and mentorship
  • Uphold systems for inventory, sanitation, and kitchen operations across stations
  • Contribute to menu development and recipe execution in collaboration with chefs and farmers
  • Communicate openly with Executive leadership, providing feedback and driving team performance
  • Oversee onboarding, coaching, and ongoing training of BOH team members
  • Ensure our high standards are consistently met—culinary, operational, and cultural

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of BOH experience in a full-service restaurant (Senior line cooks with extensive experience may be considered following a training and evaluation period)
  • At least 2 years in a supervisory or sous chef role strongly preferred
  • Deep working knowledge of modern and classical culinary techniques
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written in English)
  • Sense of urgency, positivity, and collaboration
  • Ability to lead with professionalism and humility
  • Availability on nights, weekends, and dining holidays
  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, and navigate stairs throughout a shift
