Job Details
  • We are hiring immediately for a full-time SOUS CHEF position.
  • Location: Citizens Johnston - 685 Greenville Avenue, Johnston, RI 02919. Note: online applications accepted only.
  • Schedule: Full-time; Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 2:30 pm. More details upon interview.
  • Requirement: Prior culinary experience preferred.
  • Internal Employee Referral Bonus Available
  • Pay Range: $20.00 to $23.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Assist the Executive Chef in food preparation and cooking, coordinate activities of kitchen staff, and assume responsibilities in the absence of the Executive Chef.

Responsibilities
  1. Prepare food following recipes and standards, meeting deadlines.
  2. Supervise food service staff, including interviewing, scheduling, training, and performance reviews.
  3. Store food safely, handle food properly, and maintain sanitation standards.
  4. Interact with customers to resolve complaints and explain menu items.
  5. Monitor inventory, supplies, and waste.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned.
