Job summary

Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services at Boise State University in Boise, ID is seeking a full-time Sous Chef – hourly. You will assist the Executive Chef, oversee cooks and food-service staff, and help ensure timely preparation and quality of menu items.

Experience in catering or fine dining in fast-paced environments is preferred. Schedule varies; pay ranges from $23.00 to $25.00 per hour, with online applications accepted.

Qualifications

• Prior catering, fine dining, and culinary experience in a fast-paced environment is preferred.
• Experience supervising kitchen staff is a plus.
• Ability to follow approved recipes and production standards.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards.
• Supervises hourly food service associates, including scheduling and training.
• Stores food safely and maintains sanitation procedures.
• Ensures proper serving temperatures and presentation.
• Interacts with customers to resolve complaints and relay information to supervisors.
• Monitors inventory and deliveries, tracks production and waste.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
