Job summary

Open Door Mission is seeking a Sous Chef to support the Hospitality Manager in preparing meals for residents and the community on campus. You will help plan menus, lead volunteers, and ensure food safety and quality while using donated ingredients to create tasty, nutritious meals.

The role emphasizes a Christ-centered environment, serving those in need, and contributing to a full-time Christian ministry within a large, downtown Omaha campus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of culinary education or experience.
• Experience cooking for large groups.
• High flexibility and creativity in cooking.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals for ODM's dining hall/cafeteria with the Hospitality Manager, Kitchen Associate and staff/volunteers.
• Direct and encourage volunteers and residents assisting in the kitchen.
• Utilize donated food creatively in recipes and menus.
• Keep the kitchen clean and safe, maintaining the health department rating.
• Oversee the kitchen in the Hospitality Manager's absence.
• Exemplify Christ and share the gospel when opportunities arise.
