Job summary

Crescent Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Sous Chef to support the Culinary Department at Le Méridien Chicago - Oakbrook Center. You will manage day-to-day kitchen operations, mentor the team, and ensure consistency in quality, prep, and presentation.

The ideal candidate has 2 years of culinary experience, including at least 1 year as Sous Chef, with a proven ability to lead, communicate, and uphold safety, sanitation, and cost controls in a busy operation.

• 2+ years of culinary experience with at least 1 year as Sous Chef in a quality operation.
• Strong leadership to guide associates toward goals while upholding high standards.
• Excellent communication to inspire teams and maintain service levels.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations in the Culinary Department.
• Lead the culinary team, ensuring consistency in prep and presentation.
• Maintain safety, sanitation, and cost controls, and supervise inventory.
• Introduce new products, presentations, and culinary techniques.

As Sous Chef you will be assisting the culinary team in overseeing the day-to-day operations in the Culinary Department.

We're Seeking

• Creative and innovative culinary skill while meeting property financial goals.
• A teacher of the importance of consistency in preparation and presentation.
• Thorough knowledge of food handling and preparation techniques.
• Experience in production of banquets and special events.
• A leader that can instill safety and sanitation habits in all associates.
• A Sous Chef who can present new products, presentations, and technical execution.
• A chef with strong inventory and cost control with an understanding of finding solutions.
