Hotel Chelsea is hiring Sous Chefs for our all-day French-American restaurant. We seek experienced hospitality professionals to lead and inspire our team, uphold food and workplace standards, and manage daily kitchen operations, prep, cleanliness, and organization. Candidates should have full-time availability.

About This Role

The Sous Chef ensures culinary and operational standards are met, assists in managing kitchen staff, and upholds sanitation and quality standards. Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with CDC and kitchen staff to meet food standards
  • Leading the kitchen team during service
  • Executing food, beverage, and hospitality standards
  • Maintaining food quality and kitchen organization
  • Participating in hiring and training kitchen staff
  • Ensuring operational standards are followed
  • Demonstrating professional leadership and team development

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in high-volume kitchens
  • Culinary Arts Degree preferred
  • NYC Food Protection Certificate required
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of financial performance analysis
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
