What You Do
  1. Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers to prepare foods.
  2. Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food.
  3. Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables.
  4. Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients.
  5. Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and checklists.
  6. Prepare cold foods.
  7. Test foods for doneness.
  8. Monitor food quality during preparation.
  9. Set up and break down workstation.
  10. Serve food in proper portions and receptacles.
  11. Wash and disinfect kitchen tools, knives, and equipment.
