Job Description
Coordinate and oversee all food preparation, presentation, and service procedures as directed by the Executive Chef. Monitor food quantities, ensure proper storage rotation to prevent waste, and oversee food quality, flavor, presentation, and portion control. Supervise staff performance, provide training, and manage staffing levels.

The Sous Chef

  • Facilitate food preparation, presentation, and service alongside kitchen staff under the guidance of the Executive Chef.
  • Monitor food quantity and quality to meet standards.
  • Ensure proper storage practices to minimize waste.
  • Oversee food consistency, flavor, presentation, and portions.
  • Manage staffing, including requests for early outs and overtime.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in kitchen and storage areas.
  • Delegate tasks to kitchen staff.
  • Monitor employee performance, provide training, and handle disciplinary actions.
  • Requisition supplies based on business needs.
  • Keep kitchen and related areas clean and hazard-free.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: One (1) year of experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
  • Physical demands include grasping, reaching, bending, lifting, and kneeling.
  • Excellent communication skills required.
  • Minimum age: 18 years.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain necessary licenses and certifications.
