Job Description

A national gourmet burger restaurant is seeking an energetic and talented Kitchen Manager to assist with the pre-opening development and daily operations of its first restaurant in the Las Vegas Valley. Known for its signature gourmet burgers and a large selection of draft beers, this award-winning casual concept has garnered over 16,000 Yelp! reviews and has been featured on Zagat's Review, NBC Los Angeles, and Business Insider.

The ideal candidate will have culinary and management experience, with a creative and motivating approach. Responsibilities include reporting to the Restaurant Manager, hiring and training staff, and contributing to the restaurant's success. The role requires approximately 50 hours per week, including some nights and weekends.

Major Responsibilities
  1. Manage operations including kitchen staffing, supplies inventory, and ensuring food and health standards are met.
  2. Conduct daily pre-shift meetings to educate staff on menu items and standards.
  3. Order supplies based on demand, ensuring adequate stock and minimizing waste.
  4. Hire, train, and foster teamwork among kitchen and FOH staff.
  5. Create staffing schedules for peak times.
  6. Oversee maintenance and repairs for kitchen equipment.
  7. Develop deep cleaning schedules to maintain hygiene.
  8. Assist with menu changes and seasonal development.
  9. Handle guest questions and complaints personally.
  10. Control food and labor costs.
  11. Maintain positive guest relations and promote brand awareness.
Essential Requirements
  • High School Diploma; college or hospitality background preferred.
  • Passion for quality food and a clean kitchen environment.
  • Ability to problem-solve and handle high-stress situations.
  • 2-3 years of progressive responsibility in hospitality.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Applicant Tracking Systems, and Aloha POS preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Leadership and assessment skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work irregular hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Demonstrate and teach the company's mission and culture.
  • ServSafe Manager's Certificate or Food Handler Certificate.
  • Responsible Alcohol Service Certification (TAM card).
  • Ability to pass liquor background check for key employee status.
