Description

We are hiring a Sous Chef for a new hotel in Conshohocken. Hotel West & Main, Tapestry by Hilton, is looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join our team. We are a full-service hotel with two restaurants and banquet/meeting space. This is a great opportunity to bring your culinary skills to one of North America’s fastest-growing hospitality companies – Concord Hospitality Enterprises. As a hotel Sous Chef, you'll delight our guests with your attention to detail in presentation, quality, and safe serving temperatures.

The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and capable of quick, authoritative problem-solving and delegation to foster team growth. They should leverage their experience to coach and mentor the culinary team effectively. Striving for perfection is important, understanding that it is an aspirational goal. Depending on the hotel brand, responsibilities may include managing various food services, from buffet breakfasts to plated dinners and banquets. Our Sous Chefs are team players, working with operations to deliver professional, competent, and prompt service to guests and clients. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Training kitchen staff in job duties, presentation, and display work.
  2. Writing schedules, evaluating, and directing personnel.
  3. Maintaining open communication between management and staff.
  4. Handling disciplinary actions when necessary.
  5. Providing staff with necessary tools and equipment.
  6. Addressing kitchen issues promptly.
  7. Participating in departmental and staff meetings, inventory, and MOD program.
  8. Ensuring high-quality, properly prepared food is efficiently served.
  9. Contributing to goal setting, standards, and organizational reputation.
  10. Supervising kitchen staff in the absence of the Executive Chef and overseeing sanitation associates.
  11. Maintaining records, recipe cards, and presentation standards.
  12. Ensuring payroll hours are submitted timely.

Salary Range: $23-$27/hour.
