The Toro Company in Bloomington, MN seeks a procurement professional to lead category management and supplier negotiations, guiding a team to achieve cost savings and delivery reliability. You will align with ISC goals, drive analytics, and mentor buyers in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years in sourcing, possess SAP/MRP experience, and are strong communicators. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement and competitive compensation.

Job Dimensions

Typical office environment as it pertains to lighting, temperature, and noise level when in administrative / operations offices. Able to travel both domestically and internationally, approximately 5%. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and mouse, and to handle other computer components.

What Will You Do?

• Promote a collaborative, team-oriented approach with direct reports in an effort to continuously improve quality, increase delivery reliability, and reduce supply chain related risks.
• Guide team in execution of sustainable strategies for moderate to highly complex vendors/categories that include spend analytics, market considerations and strategic importance, etc.
• Onboard and manage the training of new category team members(?) Ensure team has tools, skill sets, and process knowledge to accomplish category goals.
• Provide leadership to commodity and operations buyers in their professional development and foster an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
• Mentor commodity and operations buyers in negotiations.
• Drive excellence and in procurement KPIs, performance management and process adherence.
• Promote collaboration of commodity and operations buyers with internal and external customers and suppliers.
• Support and oversee multiple projects managed by category teams.
• Seek, identify, and drive opportunities for continuous process improvement and automation.
• Drive and lead data integrity improvement and maintenance within the commodity teams.
• Identify and launch procurement projects and initiatives to analyze effectiveness, and drive results and compliance in line with ISC goals.
• Routinely interact with internal customers to improve deliverables, and service.
• Effectively collaborate with sourcing leadership toward achieving sourcing department goals.
• Participate in long-range planning processes and the establishment of annual sourcing and development objectives.
• Network with industry groups and strive to remain current with industry trends, identifying best practices, and leading implementation efforts.
• Track errors linked to sourcing and guide direct reports in problem solving.
• Support category team in supplier transitions.
• Lead and advise in supplier exit processes.
• Ability to troubleshoot unique issues that arise of moderate to advanced complexity.
• All other tasks and projects as assigned.

What Do You Need?

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferred in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Operations or Engineering 4+ years sourcing experience or relevant education normally gained by completing degree in supply chain or operations related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to professionally interact with internal and external stakeholders at all levels in the organization.
• Highly self‑motivated, ability to work under pressure, manage and prioritize multiple objectives concurrently, attend to details, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Proven ability to analyze situations and drive to standardize process improvements.
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Suite, MRP/ERP experience required, SAP® experience preferred.
• Ability to maintain composure and support their peers during rapidly changing situations, remaining focused on the relevant objective.
• Capacity to work independently as well as within a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, cost drivers, and market dynamics for assigned category

Competitive Salary

#LI-Hybrid Competitive Salary – The pay range takes into account skills, experience, education, and location. It is not common to be hired at or near the top of the range; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the annual pay range is between $84,000 - $112,000. Cash compensation is one piece of our competitive total rewards package.
