Job summary

Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) is seeking a Sourcing Specialist to manage supplier subcontracts for MEPPI TSD; including evaluation, qualification, selection, negotiation, costing and project management.

This position reports to the Transportation Systems Division Purchasing Section Manager and is a hybrid position, four days on site in Freedom, PA with occasional travel (~20%).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management or related field with 8+ years' experience managing large-scale subcontracts.
• Advanced MS Excel modeling and ERP systems proficiency.
• Analytical thinking and cross-functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage supplier subcontracts from evaluation to project management.
• Monitor supplier performance against KPIs for cost, quality, delivery, sustainability and innovation.
• Develop sourcing strategies and optimize total cost of ownership (TCO).
• Resolve commercial and technical issues between supplier and MEPPI.
• Lead sourcing initiatives with project plans and milestones.
• Analyze spend, risk and cost drivers to identify savings.
• Create supplier evaluations and risk analyses for management.
• Identify, research and evaluate potential suppliers.
• Address supplier capability gaps with development plans.
• Lead supply chain efforts for proposal teams.
• Negotiate and author subcontracts for major equipment and manage performance.
• Monitor project cost performance and implement procurement strategies to reduce costs.
• Track cost savings/overruns and coordinate resolution with engineering.

Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) is seeking a Sourcing Specialist to manage, draft, negotiate, and execute supplier subcontracts for MEPPI TSD; including evaluation, qualification, selection, negotiation, costing and project management.

This position will report to the Transportation Systems Division Purchasing Section Manager and is a hybrid position 4 days a week onsite in Freedom, PA with occasional travel (~20%).

What You'll Do:

• Manage supplier subcontracts through evaluation, qualification, selection, negotiation, costing and project management.
• Manage supplier performance, in relation to cost, quality, delivery to meet KPIs, sustainability, and innovation KPIs, ensuring regular business reviews and corrective action as needed.
• Develop, lead, and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies, meet divisional and operational requirements, and optimize total cost of ownership (TCO).
• Resolve commercial and technical supplier issues and actions serving as liaison between supplier and MEPPI.
• Lead sourcing initiatives, ensuring project plans, milestones, and deliverables are aligned with stakeholder expectations, compliance requirements, and project timelines.
• Analyze spend, risk profiles, and cost drivers to identify savings opportunities.
• Create detailed supplier evaluation and risk analysis and present supplier recommendations to MEPPI management and stakeholders.
• Identify, research, and evaluate potential suppliers.
• Identify supplier capability gaps and create corresponding development and maturation plan to support MEPPI projects.
• Lead Supply chain efforts for proposal teams. Create opportunity-specific sourcing strategy with MEPPI Program Management.
• Develop, negotiate, and author subcontracts for major equipment managing the technical exceptions and customer flow-downs.
• Manage subcontractor performance on existing subcontracts to ensure contract compliance; develop and enforce corrective actions/resolutions for contract issues.
• Monitor project cost performance and implement procurement strategies designed to reduce current and future project costs.
• Identify and track cost savings/overruns and facilitate resolution between engineering and subcontract supplier.

What You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management or related field and minimum 8 years' experience managing large-scale subcontracts in transit environment, electromechanical environment, related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• Advanced MS Excel modeling.
• Developed logical and critical thinking skills including the ability to develop, analyze and draw conclusions to problems requiring quantitative results.
• Advanced interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills within cross-cultural work environment.
• Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office products ERP Systems (preferably Syteline).
