Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. seeks a Sourcing Specialist to manage, draft, negotiate, and execute supplier subcontracts for MEPPI TSD, including evaluation, qualification, selection, negotiation, costing and project management.

This hybrid role reports to the Transportation Systems Division Purchasing Section Manager and is onsite 4 days a week in Freedom, PA, Warrendale area facilities. The position requires a strong background in subcontracts, cost analysis, and supplier

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management or related field.
• Advanced MS Excel modeling.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience managing large-scale subcontracts in transit environments or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Manage supplier subcontracts through evaluation, qualification, selection, negotiation, costing and project management.
• Resolve commercial and technical supplier issues and actions as liaison between supplier and MEPPI.
• Create supplier evaluation and risk analyses and present recommendations to management.
• Identify supplier capability gaps and develop maturation plans to support MEPPI projects.
• Lead supply chain efforts for proposal teams and develop opportunity-specific sourcing strategies.
• Negotiate and author subcontracts for major equipment, managing exceptions and flow-downs.
• Manage subcontractor performance and enforce corrective actions to ensure contract compliance.
• Monitor project costs and implement procurement strategies to reduce costs.

Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) is seeking a Sourcing Specialist to manage, draft, negotiate, and execute supplier subcontracts for MEPPI TSD; including evaluation, qualification, selection, negotiation, costing and project management.

This position will report to the Transportation Systems Division Purchasing Section Manager and is a hybrid position 4 days a week onsite in Freedom, PA.

What You’ll Do:

• Manage supplier subcontracts through evaluation, qualification, selection, negotiation, costing and project management.


• Resolve commercial and technical supplier issues and actions serving as liaison between supplier and MEPPI.


• Create detailed supplier evaluation and risk analysis and present supplier recommendations to MEPPI management and stakeholders.


• Identify supplier capability gaps and create corresponding development and maturation plan to support MEPPI projects.


• Lead Supply chain efforts for proposal teams. Create opportunity-specific sourcing strategy with MEPPI Program Management.


• Develop, negotiate, and author subcontracts for major equipment managing the technical exceptions and customer flow-downs.


• Manage subcontractor performance on existing subcontracts to ensure contract compliance; develop and enforce corrective actions/resolutions for contract issues.


• Monitor project cost performance and implement procurement strategies designed to reduce current and future project costs.


• Identify and track cost savings/overruns and facilitate resolution between engineering and subcontract supplier.

What You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management or related field and minimum 8 years’ experience managing large-scale subcontracts in transit environment or related field, or equivalent education and experience.


• Advanced MS Excel modeling.


• Developed logical and critical thinking skills including the ability to develop, analyze and draw conclusions to problems requiring quantitative results.


• Advanced interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills within cross-cultural work environment.


• Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office products ERP Systems (preferably Syteline).
