Job summary

Fastenal Co. is seeking a full-time Sourcing Specialist with location flexibility across the USA (excluding CA, WA and OR). This role involves researching and completing formal RFQs, interpreting customer prints, and coordinating with sales, engineering, quality, suppliers, and customers.

After onboarding and performance goals, a flexible schedule may be offered. The position focuses on MRO or OEM parts, cross-referencing parts to match customer specifications while pursuing cost savings and

Responsibilities

• Researching and completing formal Requests for Quotes (RFQ's) from some of Fastenal Company's largest current and potential customers
• Working closely with sales teams, product development teams, manufacturers and customers
• Working on a team focused on MRO or OEM parts
• Cross referencing parts based on customer's specifications
• Identifying sources of supply for non-standard items and providing alternate or substitute items
• Collaborating with supplier development to advance supplier onboards and data content
• Assisting Lean Solution team with new business implementations
• Working with Industry Sales Specialists and Engineers to understand customer needs

Sourcing Specialist

Position location is flexible and may office from any branch in the USA except CA, WA and OR

Full-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI 7:00am - 5:00pm

OVERVIEW:

Working as Full-time Sourcing Specialist, you will research and complete formal Requests for Quotes (RFQ's). Completing these RFQ's requires you to understand and interpret customer prints and work closely with sales, engineering, quality, suppliers/manufacturers and customers. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Researching and completing formal Requests for Quotes (RFQ's) from some of Fastenal Company's largest current and potential customers


• Working closely with the following groups: Fastenal Sales Teams, Fastenal Product Development Teams, Manufacturers and Customers


• Working on a team that is focused on MRO or OEM parts


• Cross referencing parts based on customer's specifications


• Identifying sources of supply for non-standard items as well as providing accurate alternate or substitute items when feasible


• Collaborating with Fastenal Supplier Development team to help advance supplier onboards, roadmaps and continuous improvement of data content


• Assisting the Fastenal Lean Solution team with the implementation of new business


• Working with Fastenal Industry Sales Specialists and Fastenal Engineers to better understand customers' needs and solutions


• Negotiating bid details for optimal costing or cost savings initiatives with suppliers and manufacturers

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• 18 years of age or older

COMPENSATION:

The base pay range for this position is $44,400 - 50,000. In addition to base pay, this position is also eligible for a bonus and/or commission.
