XRI Water is seeking a dedicated Sourcing Specialist to support the Procurement team in Midland, TX. The role focuses on RFQ activities, bid evaluations, supplier coordination, and PO management to ensure cost-effective sourcing for operations and engineering teams.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 3 years’ procurement experience, with strong Excel skills and ERP exposure. On-site work and flexibility for non-standard hours are expected.

• Excel proficiency and exposure to ERP systems (SAP/Oracle).

Purpose

The Sourcing Specialist supports the Procurement Department by executing day-to-day purchasing activities to support the Operations, Engineering, and other related company development teams. This role focuses on executing routine quote requests, compiling bid comparison reports, assisting with coordination for vendor deliveries, managing purchase orders, and ensuring compliance.

Role/Responsibilities

• Verify and evaluate supplier capabilities and pre-qualification set up
• Initiates, prepares, and coordinates Requests for Quotes (RFQs) and proposal evaluations
• Data entry and verification in the vendor management system
• Sourcing analysis report construction and interpretation
• Process vendor qualifications, master agreements, pricing logs, and strategic internal/external communications
• Interacts with suppliers to evaluate competitive bidding and secure total cost savings
• Contact current and alternative suppliers to identify backup sources and resolve recurring supply chain or cost discrepancies
• Coordinates with internal stakeholders to align supplier selections with field operational needs promptly and efficiently
• Follow all HSE policies and supplier risk management procedures
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Minimum of 3 years of procurement, purchasing, or commercial sourcing experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data validation, formulas) and basic exposure to ERP software (SAP, Oracle, or dynamic asset tracking systems); NetSuite & OpenInvoice is a plus.
• Competency in interpreting spend data, constructing basic financial reports, and evaluating competing vendor quotes.
• Strong professional written and verbal skills for negotiating with external suppliers and coordinating with internal field operations.
• Must be flexible in a changing work environment, available to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment.
• Occasional reaching, kneeling, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
