Switchgear Power Systems, LLC is seeking a Sourcing Buyer to manage day-to-day purchasing activities, align with Sourcing Analysts, and ensure on-time material delivery for production and projects.

You will handle RFQs, PO processing, pricing updates, and supplier communications while complying with internal policies and driving material strategies.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience reading engineering documents and BOMs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process RFQs, purchase orders, and supplier acknowledgements.
  • Maintain pricing, quantities, and delivery dates within the ERP system.
  • Expedite orders to support production schedules.
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding orders, deliveries, and issues.
  • Follow purchasing policies and help execute material sourcing strategies.

Position Description

The Sourcing Buyer is responsible for the day-to-day execution of purchasing activities to ensure materials and services are ordered accurately and on time to support SPS production and project requirements. This position partners closely with Sourcing Analysts to execute purchasing strategies, maintain accurate purchase orders, obtain supplier acknowledgements, and resolve transactional issues throughout the purchasing process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Purchasing & Order Execution

  • Process RFQs, purchase orders, and supplier acknowledgements.
  • Maintain accurate pricing, quantities, and delivery dates within the ERP system.
  • Process purchasing changes related to ECNs, NCRs, and changing material requirements.
  • Purchase indirect materials, MRO, logistics, and other business needs.
  • Expedite orders as needed to support production schedules.

Supplier & Transactional Support

  • Communicate with suppliers regarding orders, deliveries, and purchasing issues.
  • Resolve invoice, receiving, quality, and pricing discrepancies.
  • Escalate material, delivery, or supplier concerns to the Sourcing Analyst.
  • Partner with Sourcing Analysts to execute material and sourcing strategies.
  • Follow established purchasing policies and processes.

Performs additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Required

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple purchasing priorities.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with suppliers and cross-functional internal teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Basic mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Ability to learn and effectively utilize ERP/MRP systems.

Preferred

  • Experience working in purchasing, supply chain, or a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering documents and bills of material.
  • Understanding of basic mechanical and electrical components.
  • Experience working within an ERP/MRP system, preferably GSS.
  • Experience resolving purchasing, invoice, or supplier discrepancies.
Qualifications & Experience

Associate or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field preferred. Previous purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or manufacturing experience preferred. Equivalent relevant work experience will be considered.
