Job summary

SpaceX in Bastrop, TX is seeking a Sourcing Manager, Electro Mechanical Commodities for Starlink Aviation. You will lead the sourcing for satellites, subsystems and ground stations, build a robust supply base, and manage budgets and capitalization plans.

You will negotiate contracts, drive cost reduction initiatives, mentor the team, and report weekly progress to SpaceX leadership while coordinating with internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in engineering, purchasing, contract negotiation, or supply chain.
• 5+ years in one or more listed fields including planning or production scheduling.
• Experience with cost control and supplier negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the supply base to support sourcing for Starlink satellites, subsystems and ground stations
• Provide weekly team status reporting, elevate to management when necessary
• Train and mentor, working to ensure that the team is continuously improving
• Work with key suppliers to develop sourcing and cost management strategies
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support capital purchases and production consumables
• Understand production equipment to identify cost, space, and process improvements
• Utilize negotiations to maximize value and manage costs in line with budgets
• Build and own project budgets; generate capitalization plans based on timelines
• Conduct market analysis and benchmarking for assigned categories
• Communicate equipment status to management; respond to changes in goals and schedule
• Create sourcing strategies to reduce risk and optimize payment terms and on-time delivery
• Build relationships and drive cross-functional consensus
• Present value propositions to executives regarding contracts and cost reductions
