Job summary

SpaceX in Woodinville, WA is seeking a Sourcing Manager for electro-mechanical commodities supporting Starlink Aviation. You will build and manage the supply base for satellites, subsystems and ground stations, lead negotiations, and mentor a team to optimize costs and delivery performance.

Responsibilities include developing sourcing strategies with key suppliers, collaborating with internal stakeholders for capital purchases, and presenting value propositions to executives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in engineering, purchasing, contract negotiation, or supply chain management.
• Alternatively 7+ years of experience in one or more listed areas as above.
• Experience negotiating contracts and sourcing global suppliers is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the supply base to support sourcing for Starlink satellites and subsystems.
• Provide weekly status reporting and escalate to management when needed.
• Train and mentor team to ensure continuous improvement.
• Develop and implement sourcing and cost management strategies with key suppliers.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders on capital purchases and production consumables.
• Understand production equipment to find cost, space, and process optimization opportunities.
• Use negotiations to maximize value, manage costs, and ensure delivery alignment with budgets.
• Build and own project budgets and capitalization plans based on project timelines.
• Conduct market research, benchmarking, and category analyses.
• Communicate equipment status to management and adapt to schedule changes.
• Create sourcing strategies to reduce risk and enable cost reductions.
