Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sourcing Manager for Mechanical Commodities (Starlink) based in Bastrop, TX, onsite. The role focuses on developing the supplier base for Starlink satellites and ground stations, driving cost reductions, and managing capital purchases and production consumables.

You will lead cross-functional teams, provide weekly status updates, and mentor staff while ensuring delivery alignment with program budgets and ITAR requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in engineering, purchasing, or contract negotiation.
• Experience with material or production planning and master scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage supply base to support sourcing for Starlink satellites and subsystems.
• Provide weekly team status reporting to management.
• Train and mentor team to drive continuous improvement.
• Negotiate with key suppliers to maximize value and ensure on-time delivery.
• Build budgeting and capitalization plans focused on total cost of ownership.
• Communicate equipment status, risks and mitigation actions to leadership.
