Job summary

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions in Sandusky, OH, seeks a Host to provide a warm, friendly greeting and responsive service for dining guests. You will manage seating timing to align with guests’ wishes and help maintain smooth service during shifts.

The role emphasizes teamwork, professional demeanor, and a welcoming atmosphere as part of our mission to Lead with Love and deliver extraordinary guest experiences.

Qualifications

• General food and beverage knowledge with at least 1 year of front-of-the-house operations preferred.
• Bi-lingual skills are preferred but not required.
• Ability to operate a point-of-sale and phone system.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests, escort them to the dining area, and rotate tables as needed.
• Call out party names and numbers when tables are ready in a courteous manner.
• Present menus and announce server’s name upon seating; check table presentation.
• Assist fellow associates (servers, bussers, hosts/hostesses, management) as needed.
• Answer telephone with proper Kalahari Verbiage.

Host

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Host for our Sortino’s Restaurant . In this roleyou will provide a warm and friendly greeting with a smile and responsive service for all dining guests. You will manage the efficiency and timeliness of seating guests to their tables with their wishes in mind.

As part of our team, you’ll embody our Promise toLead with Love—guiding, supporting, and inspiring associates while delivering extraordinary guest experiences. Your professionalism and helpful attitude will set the tone for a positive overall impression of the Kalahari.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests, in a friendly manner, escorting them to the assigned dining area. Rotate tables when seating guests throughout the shift.
• Call out name and number of party when tables become available in a courteous and friendly manner with a pleasant, professional, and clear tone of voice.
• Upon seating, present menus; announce server’s name. Inspect table for proper presentation and completeness.
• Be ready and willing to assist fellow associates (servers, bussers, co-host/hostess, and management) as situations rise.
• Answer telephone with the proper Kalahari Resort verbiage.

What We’re Looking For

• General food and beverage knowledge, involving at least 1 year of front-of-the-house operations, is preferred.
• Ability to operate a point-of-sale and phone system.
• Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Bi-lingual skills are preferred but not required.
