Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker is hiring a Machine Operator – Sortation for its Stanfield, NC location, on 2:00PM-10:00PM shift. You will set up equipment, inspect parts, and troubleshoot issues while maintaining a clean, safe work area.

You'll perform efficiency-focused tasks, handle cartons for shipping, and support routine maintenance. The role requires mechanical aptitude, blueprint reading, and reliable teamwork in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• General mechanical knowledge and ability.
• Drive and operate forklift.
• Operate overhead cranes.
• Read and understand blueprints, basic mathematical understanding.
• Common sense to carry out work instructions.
• Good communications skills, verbal and written.
• Able to write simple sentences to provide information.
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry.
• Analytical skills to evaluate die and press problems.
• Walk/stand for an 8 hour shift.
• Bend, reach and climb occasionally.
• Vision for inspection of parts.
• Lift/carry 5-40 pounds regularly; 41+ with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Set up machine bowls, tracks, lasers, eddy current, cameras and feed systems to sort assemblies to print parameters.
• Dimensional and visual inspection using blueprints and inspection sheets.
• Recognize and correct setup, machine or feed problems with adjustments.
• Weigh, label cartons of sorted product for shipping.
• Maintain housekeeping to keep a clean, orderly area.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance as specified for equipment.
• Work overtime as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
