Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. is hiring a Machine Operator – Sortation for the Stanfield, NC facility. You will set up equipment, inspect parts, and ensure accurate sorting per print parameters. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints are essential.

The role requires operating forklifts and overhead cranes, performing routine maintenance, labeling and shipping sorted products, and collaborating with the team to meet production goals. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• General mechanical knowledge and ability.
• Drive and operate forklift and overhead cranes.
• Read and understand blueprints, basic mathematical understanding and ability.
• Good communication skills, verbal and written.
• Ability to lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds regularly.

Responsibilities

• Set up machine bowls, tracks, lasers, eddy current, cameras and feed systems to sort assemblies to print parameters.
• Perform dimensional and visual inspection using blueprints and measurements to determine setup parameters.
• Identify setup, machine or feed problems and correct them with adjustments.
• Weigh, label and carton sorted product for shipping.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and communicate effectively with team.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance as specified for equipment.
• Ability to work overtime as needed; other duties as assigned by supervisor.
