Loyal Source Government Services seeks a full-time Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist to perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures at the VA New Jersey Health Care System in Toms River, New Jersey. Qualifications

• Licensed to practice Radiologic Technology in the US (or DC).
• Minimum 1 year of ultrasound experience as a Sonography/Ultrasound Technologist.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in abdomen, OB/GYN, and/or breast depending on service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the patient for ultrasound procedures and provide pretest education; explain procedures and answer questions.
• Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures and record internal structures.
• Conduct quality control to ensure optimal image quality and adjust equipment to reduce artifacts.
• Monitor patients for changes and notify physician as needed.
• Prepare contrast agents and document doses per protocol.
• Follow Veterans Administration and clinic policies, infection control, and safety guidelines.
• Evaluate test results for accuracy and integrity; log data in patient information systems.
• Clean and disinfect equipment and workspace; address equipment malfunctions.
• Prepare digital images for radiologist interpretation; transmit images and reports via PACS.
• Communicate with patients, families, co-workers, and supervisors in a courteous manner.
