Job summary

LiveWell Homecare Agency seeks a qualified ultrasound technologist to perform diagnostic imaging, position patients, and ensure image quality. You will operate equipment, prepare reports, and send studies to PACS while maintaining privacy and patient comfort.

Candidates should have a diagnostic sonography education (degree preferred), ARDMS/ARRT-S certification, and at least one year of clinical experience. BLS is required on hire. Opportunity for growth and funded education programs.

Responsibilities

• Verify clinician orders and obtain patient history.
• Ensure proper patient identification, privacy and comfort during procedures.
• Respond to emergencies and maintain life support equipment as needed.
• Assist in training departmental staff and provide patient education.
• Produce and review ultrasound images; send studies to PACS.
• Maintain equipment, perform calibration checks and follow infection control policies.
• Handle routine operations: supplies, patient transport, documentation.
• Adhere to regulatory standards and hospital policies.

Job description

Role Overview: Provides safe, high-quality diagnostic ultrasound imaging, performing a variety of technical procedures independently. Demonstrates expertise in patient positioning, equipment setup, and image acquisition, ensuring accuracy and adherence to protocols. Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff to explain procedures, address concerns, and maintain patient dignity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verifies clinician orders and obtains comprehensive patient history.
• Ensures proper patient identification, privacy, and comfort during procedures.
• Responds to emergencies and maintains life support equipment as needed.
• Assists in training departmental staff and provides patient education.
• Produces acceptable images, reviews quality, and sends studies to PACS.
• Maintains equipment, checks calibration, and follows infection control policies.
• Performs routine department operations, including supply restocking, patient transport, and documentation.
• Adheres to regulatory standards and hospital policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

• High School Diploma or GED; Diagnostic Medical Sonography degree preferred.
• Certification: ARDMS or ARRT-S, BLS required upon hire.
• Minimum 1 year of clinical ultrasound experience; graduate of an accredited program.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work independently, handle stressful situations, and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Competent in ultrasound techniques, anatomy, pathology, and patient positioning.
