Job summary

Essentia Health in Detroit Lakes, MN, seeks a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to perform ultrasound scans for physician diagnosis with current equipment and clinical expertise. Ideal candidates will graduate CAHEA-accredited programs, be ARDMS registry eligible and register within 1 year.

Certifications in Abdomen, OB/GYN, and Vascular are expected over time; MSK certification within 24 months may be required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a CAHEA-accredited program in sonography and ARDMS registry eligible.
• Registered by ARDMS within 1 year of hire.
• Must be certified in Abdomen, OB/GYN, and Vascular within 24 months (East/West Market specifics).
• ND license required if working in North Dakota.
• MSK certification within 24 months if assigned to MSK department.

• Provide diagnostic ultrasound scans of patients for physician diagnosis using ultrasound equipment and required technical knowledge.

Provide diagnostic ultrasound scans of patients for physician diagnosis, utilizing diagnostic ultrasound equipment and appropriate technical knowledge and skills.

Education Qualifications:

Education Requirements:

• Graduation from a Committee on Allied Health Education (CAHEA) accredited program in sonography and registry eligible by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

Certification/Licensure Requirements:

• Registered by the ARDMS within 1 year of hire.

East Market:

• Must be certified in Abdomen, OB/GYN, and Vascular within 24 months of hire date. Those staff assigned to work in the Ashland location are not required to obtain Vascular certification.

West Market and Brainerd Lakes Locations:

• Must be certified in one of the following areas within 12 months - Abdomen, OB/GYN, Vascular, Breast or Nuchal Translucency

West:

If North Dakota, must have current license on North Dakota Medical Imaging & Radiation Therapy Board of Examiners (NDMIRT) upon hire.

If working in Department 2010-2042320 MSK Ultrasound - SMDC HOSP, must complete ARDMS MSK Certification within 24 months.
