Job summary

BJC Healthcare's Alton Memorial Hospital in Illinois is seeking a full-time Sonographer to perform ultrasound imaging across abdominal, obstetric, small parts and vascular studies. The ultrasound department is part of Radiology, focused on high-quality care near the community.

The role includes night shifts (10 hours), on-call duties, and a sign-on bonus for eligible applicants. Experience is not required; RDMS/RDCS certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or trade school equivalency required.
• RDMS or equiv certification preferred or required.
• RDCS or equiv certification preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Performs ultrasound imaging examinations and ensures proper documentation.
• Operates ultrasound equipment and maintains readiness.
• May perform studies on-call, portable exams, and at other sites as required.

• Full-time (Nights)10 hour shifts, 4 days per week
• Monday thru Thursday8:30 p.m to 7:00 a.m.
• Holiday Rotation Required (2 Per Year - On Call)

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

The Registered Diagnostic Sonographer performs ultrasound imaging, including but not limited to abdominal, small parts, and obstetrical, to adult and/or pediatric patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders, and assist with needle procedures (i.e., biopsies, drainages, needle placements, etc.). May also perform vascular imaging

• Performs ultrasound imaging examinations and ensures proper documentation of procedures.
• Performs studies independently, may perform studies on-call, portable exams, and at other sites as required by work area.
