Job summary

Alton Memorial Hospital in Illinois is seeking a Registered Diagnostic Sonographer to perform ultrasound imaging across abdominal, small parts and obstetrical exams for adults and children, with focus on accurate diagnosis and patient care. The radiology department prides itself on close-to-home high-quality imaging services.

The role supports a night-shift, full-time schedule: 8:30 p.m.–7:00 a.m., four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday, with holiday rotation and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate or trade school equivalency.
• Experience: No prior experience required.
• Licenses/Certifications: RDMS or equivalent; RDCS or equivalent preferred.
• CPR certification preferred as part of qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Ensures proper function and readiness of all ultrasound equipment.
• Performs ultrasound imaging examinations and documents procedures.
• Performs studies independently; may be on-call or at other sites as required.

The ultrasound department is located within the Radiology department of the hospital. The ultrasound department prides itself on being able to offer quality care Close to Home.

Role Purpose

The Registered Diagnostic Sonographer performs ultrasound imaging, including but not limited to abdominal, small parts, and obstetrical, to adult and/or pediatric patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders, and assist with needle procedures (i.e., biopsies, drainages, needle placements, etc.). May also perform vascular imaging

• Performs studies independently, may perform studies on-call, portable exams, and at other sites as required by work area.
