Job summary

HCA HealthONE Aurora is seeking a Sonographer I PRN to perform ultrasound procedures per established protocols across the patient age spectrum. The role emphasizes maintaining high-quality diagnostic results and fluency in cleaning and disinfecting ultrasound probes.

The candidate should have AMA-approved ultrasound training, ARDMS/RVT or RDMS/ARRT-R credentials, and BLS within 30 days of starting. This PRN role is based at HCA HealthONE Aurora, part of a large healthcare system.

Qualifications

• Current ARDMS or RVT (vascular) certification; maintain registry.
• Maintenance of annual competency for cleaning and high level disinfection of ultrasound probes.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment start date.
• Completion of AMA approved Ultrasound program.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound procedures per established protocols for patients from neonate to geriatric.
• Maintain expert technical and patient-care skills and provide quality diagnostic results.
• Clean and high-level disinfection of ultrasound probes and equipment; assist as assigned by supervisor.

Job Summary and Qualifications

This position supports the mission of HealthONE/HCA of optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. Under the supervision of the Radiologist and the supervision of the lead technologist, performs ultrasound procedures in accordance with established protocols for patients ages neonate through geriatric. Responsible for maintaining expert technical and patient-care skills and provide quality diagnostic results. Will be knowledgeable and competent in cleaning and high level disinfection of ultrasound probes and other equipment as necessary. When need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

What qualifications you will need:

• Completion of an AMA approved Ultrasound School training program or an armed services program that qualifies for approval. Current certification by ARDMS or RVT (vascular) certification. Must maintain current registry. Maintains annual competency for cleaning and high level disinfection of ultrasound probes. Attends continuing education activities to maintain knowledge and skill level. Must maintain BLS.
• Completion of an AMA approved Ultrasound program.
• Prefer 1 year recent hospital Ultrasound experience. Skills commensurate with formal training requirements.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (RDMS) Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, or (ARRT-R) Radiography
