Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a Sonographer I Acute for Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. Schedule: 36 hrs/wk with night and weekend shifts; responsibilities include preparing patients and operating ultrasound equipment for diagnostic scans in acute care settings.

The role requires ARRT or ARDMS certification and an associate degree, with 1 year of sonography experience preferred. This position supports inpatient, ED, OR procedures, including biopsies and drainages.

Qualifications

• Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree; ARRT-approved Radiography or Sonography program, or CAAHEP-recognized Sonography program, required.
• Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in sonography, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: NH Medical Center-Certified and registered by ARRT in Sonography or ARDMS in a specialty - RT(S) or ARDMS within 6 months of hire, required.

What You'll Do

The Sonographer I Acute assists physicians in the performance of diagnostic and / or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and operating the ultrasound equipment in order to obtain diagnostic scans in the acute setting. The sonographer is responsible for inpatient, outpatient, the emergency department & the operating room procedures to include biopsies, drainages, paracentesis, and thoracentesis. The sonographer must possess the skills and competencies necessary to work effectively across a variety of clinical settings and is expected to either regularly work in, or rotate through, an acute care facility as part of their ongoing responsibilities.

What We’re Looking For

• Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred. Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography or Sonography Program; or CAAHEP-recognized Sonography Program, required.
• Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in sonography, preferred.
