Job summary

HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital in Port Charlotte, FL is seeking a Sonographer ARDMS to join our ultrasound team on a full-time basis. The candidate will perform ultrasound examinations, maintain patient histories, and collaborate with radiologists to ensure quality imaging and accurate reporting.

ARDMS registry with RVT/AB/OB-GYN is required, along with BLS and 1–3 years of experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, professional growth opportunities, and a supportive work environment

Qualifications

• Two-year Associate Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
• Valid ARDMS registry with RVT, AB, or OB/GYN specialty/ies
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• 1–3 years experience as Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer
• Organizational, verbal, interpersonal, customer relations, mathematical, analytical, grammar/spelling, and computer skills (MEDITECH)
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions

Your tasks and responsibilities as a Sonographer include but are not limited to:

• Prepare and position patients and equipment in a safe, competent manner
• Obtain and document a complete patient history as it relates to the procedure ordered, and obtain informed consent in accordance with departmental policy and procedure
• Maintain statistical results for quality improvement
• Communicate effectively with patient providing explanation of procedures within scope of practice and with radiologists regarding any unusual clinical findings, history, test results, etc.

Qualifications

• A two-year Associate Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
• Valid registry through ARDMS with RVT, AB, or OB/GYN specialty/ies
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• 1-3 years previous experience as Ultrasound Technologist (Sonographer)
• Organizational, verbal, interpersonal, customer relations, mathematical, analytical, grammar/spelling, computer (MEDITECH), and clerical skills
• Ability to read/comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions
