Responsibilities:

1. Assist physicians with invasive procedures as necessary and adhere strictly to the universal protocol standards.
2. Ensure all exams within your area of responsibility are properly coded and tracked through RIS system, all exams are properly networked to ISITE for archiving and interpretation, and all charges are adequately entered for the exams performed.
3. May be responsible for High Level Disinfection of devices, supplies, and/or equipment.
4. Review patient history and assess physician orders, applying specific departmental protocols for optimal results in data acquisition.
5. Document patient history in electronic records as required.
6. Perform a variety of technical ultrasound procedures, correlating patient history, laboratory data, and physical findings to assist in medical diagnosis under physician supervision.
7. Demonstrate strong interaction skills with patients and co-workers, displaying caring, listening, dignity, and respect.
8. Work effectively as a team member within the department and other departments to expedite patient care.
9. Utilize ultrasound instrumentation appropriately, demonstrating knowledge of equipment operations, applications, and scanning techniques to optimize image quality.
10. Complete procedures according to protocol.
11. Obtain appropriate ultrasound images demonstrating anatomy, relationships, and tissue characteristics, and correlate measurements with data charts and other data sources.
