Field-Based Per-Diem Echocardiogram Sonographer

Pittsburgh, Morgantown, New Castle, Harrisburg, and Waynesboro, Pennsylvania

Job Overview

This is a mobile, PRN (as needed) in-home position that includes mileage reimbursement. Echocardiogram Sonographers have the discretion to manage their own schedules. We are seeking an experienced Echocardiogram Sonographer to perform echocardiograms in patients' homes. The ideal candidate will have over 3 years of experience in echocardiography, be skilled in operating ultrasound equipment, and excel in providing high-quality diagnostic cardiac sonography and compassionate patient care.

Duties

  • Perform echocardiograms according to established protocols and physician orders.
  • Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, positioning them, and ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate interpretation by the cardiologist.
  • Accurately document required patient information in designated digital platforms.
  • Adhere to infection control, safety standards, and established protocols to ensure patient and staff safety.
  • Stay current with continuing education requirements and new developments in echocardiography to maintain certification and skills.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities, including equipment calibration, maintenance checks, and troubleshooting minor technical issues.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • State Licensure for Pennsylvania.
  • At least 3 years of practical experience performing echocardiograms in a clinical setting.
  • Expertise in echocardiography techniques.
  • Comprehensive understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Keen attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and efficient multitasking skills.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English.
  • Must pass a Background check and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Cardiovascular Technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
  • Experience with EchoNous Kosmos Device.
