Job summary

Whitman Hospital & Medical Clinics in Colfax, WA is seeking a part-time sonographer to perform abdominal, breast, OB/GYN and vascular studies. The role balances patient interaction with imaging expertise in a clinical setting, with weekend shifts and PRN coverage.

Responsibilities include operating ultrasound equipment, explaining procedures, maintaining room cleanliness, assisting radiologists, and documenting in PACS; ARDMS/ARRT credentials preferred and BLS certified.

Qualifications

  • One year post graduate experience.
  • Experience with ABD, BREAST, OB/GYN, and VASCULAR sonography.
  • AHA BLS certified.

Responsibilities

  • Direct patient care and demonstrates use of equipment to produce diagnostic studies.
  • Explains procedure to patients and answers questions.
  • Maintains cleanliness of scan room according to infection control guidelines.
  • Assists radiologist with procedures as required.
  • Performs Abd, Breast, Small parts, Venous and Echo if needed.
  • Reconciles study in PACS with paperwork.
  • Demonstrates excellent patient care and communication skills.

The position will require the ability to lift, and carry, up to 50 pounds and push or pull over 50 pounds. The position will require bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, reaching overhead, sitting and standing frequently. Occasionally the position requires climbing, kneeling and crawling. The position requires continuous finger dexterity and fine manipulation.
