Qualifications

• Navy background – Surface Sonar Technician (STG) or Submarine Sonar Technician (STS).
• Leadership rank – Preferably E‑5 or E‑6; other ranks considered based on experience.
• Technician expertise – Maintenance or on‑the‑job troubleshooting of APB‑15/ACB‑15 (or newer) equipment; resolve SQQ‑89 issues.
• Travel - Willing/able to travel to customer site up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Develop & Execute Test Cases – Design, review, and implement new test methodologies for the SQQ‑89 sonar suite.
• Technical Review – Analyze system documentation and requirements; provide input to Systems Engineering.
• Requirement‑Based Testing – Perform witnessed tests, capture results, and distribute reports to stakeholders.
• Fleet Issue Replication – Recreate field problems in lab for root‑cause analysis and resolution.
• Issue Documentation – Record deficiencies with clear steps and detailed descriptions.
• Test‑Environment Integration – Configure test scenarios and connect equipment to SQQ‑89 hardware.
