Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Field Engineer to join the AEGIS Test Team in Pascagoula, MS, supporting installation, testing, and on-site oversight for the AN/SQQ‑89A(V) Sonar Suite. You will coordinate with ship's force, ATT personnel, and shipyard teams to ensure readiness of USW systems from installation through verification.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, witnessing tests, performing SIV, troubleshooting, documenting discrepancies, and contributing to daily reporting.

Qualifications

• BS degree with 2–4 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with less than 2 years of relevant experience; equivalent military or technical experience may be considered.
• Ability to operate standard electronic test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Installation Oversight: review drawings and procedures for AN/SQQ‑89A(V)15 installations and upgrades.
• System Testing & Verification: coordinate and conduct testing of sonar components; perform SIV and equipment grooms.
• Troubleshooting & Corrective Actions: fault isolation and corrective actions for system issues.
• Reporting & Documentation: provide updates for daily/weekly reports and document discrepancies.
• Customer & Team Coordination: act as on-site representative to coordinate with ship’s force and ATT team.
