Job summary

Queen Miami Beach is seeking an experienced Sommelier to join our beverage team and elevate our wine program through thoughtful pairings and expert service.

The ideal candidate will have extensive wine knowledge, strong guest engagement abilities, and experience in a fine dining setting. Certification as a sommelier is preferred, with hospitality or WSET credentials considered a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Sommelier or in upscale hospitality.
• Sommelier certification preferred; hospitality degree or WSET certification is a plus.
• Extensive knowledge of wine varietals, regions, and food and wine pairings.

Responsibilities

• Recommend wine pairings that complement guests' dining selections.
• Guide guests through the wine list and assist with wine selections.
• Perform professional wine service, including bottle presentation, tasting, and tableside service.
• Maintain wine inventory and assist with ordering and stock replenishment.
• Monitor proper wine storage and organization.
• Assist in maintaining and enhancing the restaurant's wine program.
• Meet with winery representatives and stay current on industry trends.
• Utilize upselling techniques to enhance guest satisfaction and beverage sales.
• Provide exceptional guest service and create memorable dining experiences.
• Support continuous education and training initiatives related to wine and beverage knowledge.

Job Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $20.00 per hour + 4 Points Service Charge (SC)

Queen Miami Beach is seeking an experienced and passionate Sommelier to join our beverage team. The ideal candidate possesses extensive wine knowledge, exceptional guest service skills, and the ability to create memorable dining experiences through thoughtful wine recommendations and pairings. This role works closely with the Beverage Manager and leadership team to maintain an exceptional wine program and elevate the guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Recommend wine pairings that complement guests' dining selections.
• Guide guests through the wine list and assist with wine selections.

• Previous experience as a Sommelier, Wine Steward, or in an upscale hospitality environment.
• Certification as a Sommelier preferred; Hospitality degree or WSET certification is a plus.
• Extensive knowledge of wine varietals, wine regions, and food and wine pairings.
• Understanding of the winemaking process.
• Strong communication, sales, and guest engagement skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced fine dining environment.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent use of hands, arms, and repetitive movements associated with beverage service.
• Ability to perform wine service while maintaining high service standards.

Environmental Conditions

• Fine dining restaurant environment with varying noise levels and temperatures.
• Use of beverage service equipment and cleaning chemicals.
• Frequent interaction with guests and team members.
• Occasional exposure to crowded service environments and fast-paced operations.
