Job summary

Nidec Corporation is seeking an Applications Engineer II – Solutions to translate customer requirements into optimized technical designs, select components, and document system architectures. You will work with Sales, Product Management, and Engineering to deliver standard products or minor derivatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field.
• 3–7 years in design/applications/systems engineering within automation or motion control.
• Strong understanding of motion control systems, electric motors, drives, and gearing technologies.
• Experience with system-level design and integration in industrial environments.
• Ability to translate customer requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Familiarity with CAD tools, system modeling, or engineering analysis tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Sales and customers to understand requirements and success criteria.
• Develop system-level solutions using standard or minimally modified product platforms.
• Select motors, drives, gearing, and control components based on requirements.
• Create complete technical documentation: system diagrams, selection docs, calculations, integration guidelines.
• Support new business opportunities through technical engagement and solution positioning.
• Provide deployment support and post-sales troubleshooting, ensuring performance in real-world applications.
