Job summary

Nidec is seeking an Application Engineer II to support new business opportunities and drive innovation in motion control and robotic systems. You will serve as a primary technical interface with customers, guiding system integration, deployment, and long-term performance of solutions.

As a key technical contact, you will collaborate with Sales on NBOs, optimize time-to-market, and contribute to product development with documented feedback and training materials. Travel up to 10% is possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering or related field; experience in application engineering, motion control, robotics, or industrial automation including customer-facing roles
• Strong understanding of motion control systems, motor drives, and automation solutions; hands-on with CANopen, EtherCAT, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP
• Experience in PLC programming, ROS and robotics environments; system integration and troubleshooting in real-world applications

Responsibilities

• Advanced Technical Support: Resolve complex issues related to ultra-low voltage drives and brushless AC servomotors; ensure stable performance
• Project Execution: Support medium- to large-scale projects from requirements through deployment; ensure high-quality technical delivery
• System Architecture & Design: Develop and validate drive system architectures; integrate with PLCs and ROS-based platforms
• Customer Engagement: Act as a key technical contact with customers; support system integration and optimization
• Sales & NBO Support: Collaborate with Sales to evaluate technical options and support demonstrations
• Customer Enablement & Time-to-Market Optimization: Reduce product selection complexity; guide architecture decisions
• Product Development Collaboration: Provide feedback on product performance and usability
• Documentation & Training: Create technical docs, application notes, and training materials
• Market Awareness: Track industry trends and opportunities for positioning
• Application Lab Contribution: Develop and maintain the application lab for validation and demonstrations
• Application Validation & Testing: Validate customer-specific scenarios and document findings
