Job summary

Nidec Motor Corporation in Hoffman Estates, IL seeks an Application Engineer II to drive motion control and robotics solutions with customers, translating requirements into practical product options and validating performance in real-world deployments.

You will assist during system integration, commissioning, and optimization, collaborate with Sales and Product Development, and help create technical documentation and training materials for customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or related field.
Hands-on experience in motion control, robotics, or industrial automation, including customer-facing roles.
Strong knowledge of motion control systems, motor drives, and automation protocols.
Experience with ROS, PLCs, and industrial communication protocols.
Ability to analyze and communicate technical concepts to customers and teams.

Responsibilities

Provide advanced technical support for ultra-low voltage drives and servo motors.
Coordinate medium to large customer projects from requirements to deployment.
Design and validate drive system architectures including PLC/ROS integration.
Serve as a key technical contact with customers during system integration and commissioning.
Support sales in technical evaluations and demonstrations.
Contribute to lab validation, testing, and documentation.
Create technical documentation and training materials.
