Job summary

Stripe is seeking a Solutions Engineer for its AI Build Team in the United States. This full-time remote role involves working directly with frontier AI companies on payments, billing, and monetization infrastructure, owning complex proof-of-concept engagements from scoping through activation.

You will prototype with customer engineers, design across Stripe products, influence the roadmap, and lead cross-functional efforts to deliver scalable references and playbooks in a fast-paced startup-like

Qualifications

• 7+ years in customer-facing technical delivery, solutions engineering, implementation, or related roles.
• Owned complex engagements from discovery through activation, pre- and post-sales.
• Experience in ambiguous 0 to 1 environments.

Responsibilities

• Own strategic proof-of-concept engagements end to end.
• Build with customers, prototyping alongside their engineers.
• Design across Stripe, spanning multiple products and deciding between configuration, integration, custom work, and core changes.
• Close 0 to 1 gaps.
• Influence the product roadmap.
• Lead cross-functionally.
• Create repeatable patterns: prototypes, reference architectures, and playbooks.
• Stay close to the AI frontier.

Minimum requirements • 7+ years in customer-facing technical delivery, solutions engineering, implementation, technical program management, or a related role • Owned complex engagements from discovery through activation, pre- and post-sales • Success in ambiguous 0 to 1 environments • Strong understanding of APIs, integrations, architecture, and data flows • Rapid prototyping with AI coding harnesses such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex • Working proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Ruby • Trusted relationships with customer engineers, founders, and senior stakeholders • Ability to lead through influence • Startup speed, Slack-first working style As an early member of Stripe’s AI industry team, you will help shape partnerships with frontier AI companies.
