The Solution Engineer (SE) is the primary contact to produce technical solutions in line with customers’ requirements, working closely with the Account Manager (AM) in a supporting presales role.

As a Solution Engineer at Arelion, you will be critical to our success by being a creative solutions-oriented consultant and an “influencer” at key touchpoints in the Sales Life Cycle and you will have the opportunity to help define what excellence and process creation mean in this role.

Overview

Role: Solution Engineer (SE) – presales technical specialist supporting the sales process.

Responsibilities

• Customer visits and telephone meetings alongside the AM
• Strategize with the AM to drive sales of solution offerings
• Experience navigating and working with IT & Network Organizations
• Work cross-functionally across Product Development, Engineering, Services and Delivery teams
• In formal RFP/RFQ bidding environments, act as point person for all technical portions of the bid package, analyze specifications, drawings, and other documents to prepare time, costs, materials, and labor estimates including bid and design-build projects
• A broader role sharing best practice, experience, and knowledge with the rest of the organisation and thus contributing to improvements across the company
• Production of solution documents
• Input to Product, Process and Network improvements

Communication

• Actively participate in customer discussions to identify the customer’s requirements
• Play the role of technical expert and collaborative problem solver with prospects and customers
• Provide support materials for customer discussions and furnish technical benefits to AM for positioning with the customer
• Relay feedback and help shape Arelion product roadmap based on field input

Innovation

• Lead discovery and research into prospective customer use cases, data networks and architectures and integrations
• Coordinate with Product Manager and Networks personnel to provide an optimized, sustainable solution following the Ways of Working developed by the Solution Engineering group
• Collaborate with Network and Product Management where new services are required to present the case and relevant support documentation

Area of Expertise

• Proven experience with companies of all sizes and employees at all levels of the organization
• Excellent presentation, communication, time management and listening skills with proven ability to motivate and train
• Experience with technical business documentation like workflow diagrams, proposals, SOWs, RFPs and RFIs

Experience & Education
