Job summary

TAS Energy, a Houston-based leader in packaged energy systems, seeks an Assistant Manager - SolidWorks to lead design and drafting teams while contributing hands-on SolidWorks expertise on packaged-equipment projects. You will coordinate across engineering, project management, and manufacturing to deliver safe, compliant, high-quality work on schedule.

You will supervise, train, and mentor designers, manage workload and progress tracking, and help define standards and procedures.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of mechanical, structural, piping, electrical, or packaged-equipment design experience with SolidWorks hands-on work.
• Experience leading or coordinating design/drafting personnel for projects.

Responsibilities

• Support lead designers on moderate to complex packaged-equipment projects from turnover through release.
• Supervise, coach, and develop design/drafting personnel.
• Interpret P&IDs, specs, layouts, BOMs and customer inputs to ensure accurate deliverables.
• Create, modify, check and approve SolidWorks models, assemblies, drawings, and BOMs.
• Attend meetings to coordinate interfaces with Engineering, PM, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing.
• Develop and enforce design/drafting standards and templates; support training and onboarding.
